Senshu University offers the JLC Program four times a year. Please refer to the following information for details regarding specific dates and details.
In the program of 2024-2025, revisions were made to the program structure, resulting in changes to the names and schedules of the existing courses. Additionally, aside from the four mentioned courses, a spring course for one year exchange students has also been introduced.

Payment MethodTelegraphic/Wire transfer of payments should be made to the bank account designated on the “Notice of Acceptance” letter. Unfortunately, credit card or personal checks cannot be accepted. Please note that you do not have to pay the application fee (20,000 JPY) prior to receiving your “Notice of Acceptance”.
Amounts paid are non-refundable.
Program costs include the following:
  1. Tuition, textbooks, and materials
  2. University & Facility Fee (access to the on-campus facility, etc.)
  3. Admission fees for field trips to places of cultural interest, etc., and expenses for cultural experiences including, but not limited to, e.g. visits to museums, attending a Kabuki play, a Japanese calligraphy class, a one-day trip to Kamakura, experiencing a tea ceremony (subject to change)
  4. Accommodation Fee (includes utilities and internet access but excludes washing machines & driers)
Program costs do not include following:
  1. Expenses for meals (however, meals are served by respective host families during the home visit)
  2. Transportation to and from the dormitory or the airport (e.g. bus fare, train fare, air fare, etc.)
  3. Luggage delivery service fees (if applicable)
  4. Medical expenses and individual enrollment overseas travel insurance premiums
  5. Expenses for coin-operated washing machines and dryers inside the dormitory
  6. Personal miscellaneous costs such as entertainment or additional travel expenses
  7. Transportation expenses related to participating in field trips (round-trip transportation expenses from the university to the destination) are not included. (Approximately 3,000 JPY to 10,000 JPY depending on the course) * Field trip participation is mandatory for all program participants.
  8. Accommodation fees (if you request housing before or after the program dates)
  9. Travel expenses during the Home Visit (pertaining only to home visit participants)
* If participants would like to extend their stay at the Senshu International House (dormitory) outside of the course period , we permit participants to stay extra 3 nights. Any additional accommodation fees will be charged separately before the program concludes, so please notify the Senshu University International Academic Affairs Office if you wish to extend your stay.


Scholarships

Senshu University does not offer any scholarships or financial aid for the Japanese Language and Culture Program.
