Program Costs & Scholarship
Program Costs 2026
The tuition for this program is waived in cases of a mutual exchange agreement. However, we will charge the necessary costs (such as textbooks & material fees, accommodation fee, etc.) as the program cost. Information regarding the total program cost and payment deadline are provided to participating university’s liaison office after we receive students' application forms.
Program costs include the following
- Application fee for the program
- Textbooks
- Material fees
- Entrance fees for excursions
- Transportation fees for the “Kamakura Tour” conducted in the “Japanese Language Course” * “Kamakura” is located south of Tokyo and is home to a famous Buddha statue.
- Housing application fee
- Housing fees for students living in the dormitory during the program
- University facility fees
- Home visit fee (only for students who apply for the home visit)
- “Gakkensai” Inbound Comprehensive Insurance for students * Even if students have an insurance, they are still liable in worst-case scenarios, so such things as “rescuer’s expense” are not included. They must enroll in Gakkensai Insurance【学研災】(i.e. “Personal Accident Insurance for Students Pursuing Education and Research” provided by JEES [Japan Educational Exchanges and Services]). The enrollment fee for this insurance will be included in the invoice we send you.
Program costs do not include following
- Expenses for meals
- Transportation fees for company visit, field trips, or excursions
- Transportation fees between Senshu University and the airport
- Transportation fees between Senshu University and the host families house (for the home visit only)
- Entrances fees to places visited during field trips for the “Japanese Culture & History Course”
- Expenses for medical care and personal overseas travel insurance (separate from the Gakkensai Insurance students are required to enroll in)
- Personal spendi6ng and/or other miscellaneous costs incurred by each student
Estimated Total Program Fee (per applicant)
The total program fee is the same regardless of the combination of courses a student chooses (please refer to the invoice sent by Senshu University for the finalized program fees). | ¥360,000 JPY

Payment Method
Payment Deadline: Mid August, 2026
The program fee for all students should be paid via a telegraphic/wire transfer from your office to the designated bank account. You are responsible for paying all bank charges. For more details, please refer to the invoice you receive.
Paying the program fee one applicant at a time will result in being charged a handling fee (by the bank) for each transaction. Therefore, we highly recommend paying the total program fee for all applicants in a single transaction to avoid paying extra handling fees.
