The ISC started as the computer lab set up in conjunction with the opening of the School of Management in January 1962. The university has been making the most of the center for both education and research, introducing the most modern systems in accordance with the advancement of computer technology. Today, the on-campus LAN is well established, enabling network-computing not only within the center facilities but also in all faculty offices and lecture rooms. In addition, wireless LAN is also available at various places on the campus. The Center embraces three facilities, two in Bldg.# 9 and Bldg.# 1 on the Ikuta campus and one in the Kanda branch office. The current system introduced in April 2010 has basic LAN constructed with a 10 gigabit ethernet. By doubling the capacity of most servers, the Center provides a high-speed and stable computing environment with Windows7 personal computers at most terminals, which total approximately 1,900 in number, including mobile PCs.
