2012 Four-Week Spring Term

*If spring term participants wish to use the gymnasium, swimming pool, training room, have to pay additional facility fees in accordance with rules set by university.
** It is not necessary for the person who does not wish to do a Home Visit to pay the Home Visit Fee(22,000 yen).

Payment Method

The wire transfer of money should be made to the bank account designated on the notice of acceptance letter. Unfortunately, credit card or personal checks can not be accepted. Please note that you do not have to pay the application fee (5,000yen) prior to receiving your notice of acceptance.
Amounts paid are non-refundable.

Program costs include the following:

  1. Tuition, Textbooks and materials
  2. University facility Fee
  3. Transportation and admission fees for field trips to places of cultural interest, etc., and expenses for task assignments including: Museum, Kabuki play, Japanese calligraphy, one-day trip to Kamakura, company visit, Tea Ceremony(Fall and Winter terms), overnight trip to Hakone(Fall term)
  4. Accomodation fee(includes utilities and Internet access)

Program costs do not include following (if you stay in the dormitory)

  1. Expenses for meals (Meals may be served by respective host families during the home visit experience)
  2. Transportation to and from the dormitory and the airport
  3. Freight charges to and from the airport (if applicable)
  4. Expenses for medical care and insurance
  5. Personal costs such as entertainment or additional travel expenses by participants
  6. Transportation to and from the dormitory and host family's house
  7. Accommodation fees(should you request housing before or after the program dates)
  8. Travel expences during the Home Visit(refering only to the Home Visit participants)

If you can make your own arrangements for accommodations, such as staying with a family you know in Japan for the whole program period, you will not have to pay the housing cost. In this case, please note that you will have to pay the necessary expenses for the home stay and the transportation fee for the commute between the university and your chosen place of residence.

Scholarships

Senshu University offers no scholarship for the Japanese Language and Culture Program.
